Short, sweet take on coming of age

This little French film had generated a lot of buzz a couple years back, and I finally caught it on an independent film channel. The ending threw me off a bit, and lingering shots of Cyril on his bike could have been snipped in the editing floor, but the film makes you take a look at the child aspect of abandonment, and the kindness of people who attempt to help them in their own way. The actor who played Cyril was marvelous, and although he wore only one facial expression throughout the film, he conveyed so many emotions of helplessness and depression for a youth.
