A ho (kek) hum superficial biopic of ostensibly vapid rich guy. While the movie wants us to care for his family struggles it doesnt bother developing them in any interesting way. All the cultural impact of his culture movement is glossed over in a dry checklist manner, you never care about his relationships as they all feel the same, and you dont sympathise with him cuz we get nothing about him other than what he does. The only thing the movie has going for it is extensive montages of fully nude women (and the are ALOOOOOOT) and coke and sex parties. Non of it sheding any dramatic light on any themes other than giving the audience a generous fix of vintage hoo-hah. The back and forth anachronic court hearing to past adds nothing to the drama. Its visually nice otherwise i suppose. Maybe its intentionally hollow to show how empty his life is. Screw that! Its no excuse to create a repetitive lifeless shell of movie like this. American Psycho captured that philosophy in a way more pointed, purposeful and engaging manner. If you want the naked ladies just go on the internet and skip the boring "drama". Besides who the hell wants to see Steve Coogan have sex?! For the good version of this movie watch "The People Vs. Larry Flynt".
