Less scary and not the best to the Mummy squel!

I did not really enjoy this movie. I mean it was good but a poor squel to The Mummy. I think there is less scares but still is constant. I think kids 10 and up could watch this movie. It really is not that scary. Could have done better but still good! constant language. And a little boy says a**.

RACHEL WEISZ IS A QUEEN

This movie was a fantastic sequel to a bad movie. I must admit that these are not academy award winning films. But the characters are what make them my absolute favorite movies. To start, my favorite character, Evie, KICKS BUTT. In the first movie she was little more than a know-it-all but development has helped her beat up bad guys. Rick is... still Rick. Alex is annoying, I'm sorry.
But the movie is entertaining and keeps you hooked, even if the good parts are literally the flashbacks and that's about it. I don't recall there being too much language, but an eight year old does say "my dad is going to kick your ass." About as violent as the first movie. Not really as much drinking.

This is a great sequel!

This is a great second installment in the Mummy franchise. There is basically no language or inappropriate content. There is a good bit of violence though. People are shot, stabbed, burned, ripped apart, eaten by killer bugs, and turned into shriveled corpses. One man has the skin sucked off of his hand leaving only bone and goo, he later gets ripped apart by the scorpion king but there's no blood. There are lots of mummies and undead creatures that may scare younger children. Tiny creatures chase people through a jungle, shooting them with blowguns. The creatures drown a number of bad guys in quicksand, but the scene is played comically. In another scene, the creatures impale a man on a spear, but this too is played for laughs. One scene that may scare younger viewers shows a man finding a cave full of shrunken heads. While this may sound like a lot, most of the violence is basically bloodless. Overall, this is a great action/adventure film that kids will definitely enjoy.

The Mummy Returns

VIOLENCE-5/5.
Scarab beetles crawl under a man's skin, and burst out of his mouth. This is the most graphic scene of the movie.
Some intense battles between sides. (Swords clashing).
Some sword fights.
A man's hand is reduced to bones after it is eaten by a scorpion. He is later torn apart. This is not as bad as it sounds.
Miniature skeleton creatures (pygmies) attack a group of people, not too graphic but just plain frightening.
Some gun shootings.
A group of mummies are pretty scary, but they are killed by the good guys.
Overall great sequel.

Good but not as good as first one less gory and less scary too.

Return if the mummy is ok. The movie is about the same characters but this time they have a son and this group of people unleash the mummy. Apparently after the mummy is u leashed and sucks people's bodies to get human form (like the first one) there is a time of seven days before the mummies enemy the scorpion king is unleashed and rules the world (the mummy is the scorpion kings enemy cuz he wants to rule). So it's up to the main charterers to save the world again. The movie is less gory and more boring he first but it is still good. The beetles that crawl in the skins are only in a few scenes unlike the first one. That's why I gave the movie 3/5 and say the movie is great for most Pre-teens. This is your common sence media reviewer. :D

The Mummy Returns is a so-so sequel

“Although there is some funny dialogue, a couple of good action scenes and a solid pace, ultimately the Mummy Returns just can’t overcome its awful CGI (almost looks like a videogame), clichéd storyline, terrible anticlimactic ending, poor character development and the movie as a whole is very forgettable. I do NOT recommend this film.”

Less scariness + Unnecessary humor = Crap

The first Mummy movie was so good that I just watched this on impluse, and it was a BIG disappointment. When it comes to sequels, I expect more violence and scariness, and while this film has a bigger budget, it loses itself with increased humor and a complete lack of scariness. There is action, but the spine-tingling chills of the first film are not to be found here. We have here one of those times where the sequel ruins itself in an attempt to top the first. Go watch the original.

Great Movie

The Mummy Returns is an outstanding sequel to an equally outstanding movie. The scenes are well-thought-out, the action-y parts are well-coordinated, the dialouge is great (no cheese) and the characters are well-done.

There is definatly some graphic gun-fighting, and the scene where Anck-su-namun stabs Evelyn is a bit disturbing, although it lacks blood. The violence might bother some younger children.

There is light profanity. Light.

The role models are good because they fight for what's right. Take Rick for example; he fights to save his son's life and later to avenge his wife. Dedicated husband and father, Take Ardeth; he fights for the duty he was charged with. He has determination and ambition; two great human qualities.

My absolute favorite movie.

Dumb, stupid, confusing, porley explained...

One thing, WHO THE HECK IS THE SCORPION KING?????? He is just some guy they made up because they couldn't think of a better plot!!! why cant the mummy just return? why dose this scorpion king guy have to be there too? Just read on for the issues:
1. Gunplay, hand to hand duels, and killing, many things, such as the mummy, may scare kids.
2. Mild language including: A-s, D--n, and H--l.
3. revaling outfits and kissing.
The only reason to wach this is if you A: are a die hard movie fan, B: a die hard mummy fan, or C: some one who has to watch every movie in a siries so he can see al the new and old charecters, otherwise, don't watch this.

This was a good movie, but not near as good as the first. Slightly more confusing and a little slower. Less violence, though, but still some swearing. Not much gruesome imagery, though.

Not as good as the first and stupid.

The Mummy 2 is exciting the but the visual are bad and in one scene the director mixes up the Rock and a scoripian which is very funny.

Pretty Lame

Don't listen to what CSM is saying, The Mummy Returns is a dumb, brainless, laughable flick nowhere near the quality of Indiana Jones. It's entertaining, but the acting, script, and plot are terribly cheesy and poor. Stay away unless you think monkey mummies are really frightening.
Good for kids:10+
