Hilarious, very mature.

So this movie is REALLY funny. Well at least for the first half. After that the humor dies down, and takes on a far more serious tone. Theres lots of female topless nudity in this, a briefly graphic sex scene, very strong language, some graphic violence, but ultimately many good points on family and such as well.

Not that bad

I’d say that the other reviews sort of exaggerate the nudity part. It’s just one scene showing a girl’s chesticle. Here’s my input: if you can take swears, then you can handle this because it’s not that long so you can just look away for a few seconds if you really can’t take it. Of course this movie isn’t like some pg-13 comedy if that’s what you’re wondering. It’s rated R for a reason. This movie is basically all about a porno that they’re trying to not leak out. Also, about the gore. There’s barely any of it. If there is some, they add something funny.

Awesome and innaporite

Very very good movie. Super good profomaces. Lots of action. Mainly guns, but they are rarely used. Quite a bit of swearing as well as smoking and drinking. A few sex scenes, lots of jokes about and nudity. All together a good, but innaporite movie.

The Nice Guys

I think the Nice Guys is an amazing film. If I were to rank the best films of the year, this would be in my top 3. However, it's a very mature film, and I'm about to go into detail about its content.
• Violence: 8/10 - This is a very violent movie with fun but intense action sequences and shootouts. A guy falls to his death, and a giant red splat is then seen as he hits the ground. A man is hit by a car. Healey breaks March's arm. March smashes his fist through a window and ends up cutting his wrist, with bloody results. A woman crashes her car, which drives through a house. Blood is shown on her body. A dead body is found and dumped into a table during a wedding party. Healey strangled a man, and lies about it. Healey sucker punches March and kicks him on the ground.
• Sex: 7/10 - Lots of vulgar terms and references. A woman is shown fully nude after her car crashes. She is also shown fully nude is a porno magazine. A young boy asks if Healey and March want to see his penis. At a party, there are many hookers and a porn film plays loudly, moaning is heard but the act is not seen, whilst being discussed before a young girl. A porn film plays at a car show, the act is briefly seen. Thrusting is shown and moaning is heard. A nude girl is shown talking on the phone in the porn film. The movie's plot revolves around the murder of a porn star.
• Language: 9/10 - Extremely frequent swearing, including f**k, s**t, d**k, etc.
• Consumerism: 5/10 - The movie takes place in the 70s, and many brands are featured and mentioned: for example, the drink YooHoo. There's also a billboard in the film for "Jaws 2",the film.
• Drinking/Drugs/Smoking: 7/10 - Lots of alcohol and tobacco use. A woman wears a hat made of cigarettes at a party, and March takes one. March is constantly smoking and/or drinking, and in one scene he gets so drunk he falls off of a balcony and loses his gun.
• Overall quality: 9/10. This is a really funny movie and while it has loads of mature content, I think it's suitable for ages 15+. It's compelling and fast-paced, and the music is great. I loved The Nice Guys and I recommend it for anyone who enjoys a good mystery film.

Crime movie not for kids

This was a great, funny, and action packed movie. It was a different approach on a crime film, plus I love how it took place in the 70s. However this movie isn't for everyone. The film contains frequent coarse language like f**k, s**t, d**k, and more. The film also contains some drug and alcohol use. One major character gets drunk, for drugs there is lots of cigarettes being smoked, plus marijuana is smoked. Sex plays a huge role in the film due to the fact the case is a porn case. So of course there's lots of sex talk. Also sex noises heard in a background, plus a pornographic film is played and brief sexuality is seen. The film also contains nudity (breast, buttocks, and female full frontal). But the violence takes center stage. The violence in this film doesn't have too high of a body count, but the violence feels realistic. This involves lots of shoot-outs, brutal beatings and punches, some injuries, plus some death scenes that involve blood. Due to the violence, sex, nudity, language and drugs, this film is best left to teens 17 and up.

"The Nice Guys", An Inmediate Classic Comedy

Irrefutably, "The Nice Guys" reigns compared to R-rated comedy films of this year (with the exception of "Deadpool"); with the personal obsessions of its director/scriptwriter, narrative intelligence and heart of those buddy comedies of the 80s, Black resumes the power in a suspense/action comedy movie rich in good performances and argumentative ability, in addition to a fascinating travel across time. Despite not having a vast repertoire of works, Shane Black established the odd couples of rough guys in the films, those which possessed a terrible relationship in daily life, but that in the violent and full of action sequences show their good hearts. After his latest project in 2005, "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", Black writes - together with Anthony Bagarozzi - and directs what could become in the best of his career.

The film would survive of independent way, without the need to its extreme action and violent scenes thanks to the incredible chemical of its leads, certainly, they are erected as an of the funniest duos in the film world. Black and Bagarozzi transport us back to the glorious 1980s, epoch where lechery, endless party and the psychedelic pornography were booming. Ryan Gosling plays Holland March, a dishonest and unprofessional private eye who immerses himself into an alcoholic whirlwind to forget the death of his wife while trying to educate and raise in a peculiar way his teenage daughter. On the other hand, Russell Crowe plays Jackson Healy, an unorthodox hired enforcer , he does not matter to work for the most indelible person in the world, provided that you collect a acceptable amount of money, he will work for you, complacently. Angourie Rice gets the same prominence than the main duo, she is Holly March, daughter of March and assistant of the couple of private detectives, unconsciously, a girl as charismatic as intelligent, who gains one place almost immediately in the frantic and demanding Hollywood by herself. The funny and hilarious trio will be challenged to solve four cases that ravage the City of Los Angeles: the death of a porn star, the disappearance of a young woman, a criminal conspiracy of high standards and the disappearance of a man from his funeral.

The plot is a genuine and vile MacGuffin, a trick designed by the selfsame Alfred Hitchcock, who permeated each suspense work of his authorship with this clever strategy. The film borrows several references to the "The Big Lebowski" classic, considering that it employs each alleged main plot to take us to the true final storyline, some indecorous and dangerous car manufacturers utilize of camouflage the disappearance of a young girl and the death of the porn star to give one message of singular form; nonetheless, Gosling and Crowe involves us in the complex scheme as themselves.

"The Nice Guys" is a perfect coordinate mechanism, it not is based only in the sequences of shootings, explosions and fights (which have recreated of lucid and entertaining way, perhaps, Marvel instilled in Black this ability after the success in "Iron Man 3"), the movie combines with dialogs full of jokes, powerful dialogs, clap-worthy dialogs, besides certain nostalgia by the films of the 80s. Although the film did not expect such reception at the box office, was not created for this objective, it is a movie with fundaments and totally faithful to the old buddy movies, is not a commercial product, although it seems like, it is a project that deserves the name of "film", in capital letters.

Shane Black earns good marks in a genre that is quickly becoming in monotonous and without surprises. An intricate plot, an extravagant atmosphere, a explosive soundtrack and an ingenious chemical of its leading actors are complemented by a absorbent pace and a nostalgic tone eighties. If you like to enjoy of one action movie, watch "The Nice Guys", if you like to enjoy of one comedy movie, watch "The Nice Guys", if you like to rekindle the 80s, watch "The Nice Guys", if you want to experience the best film of comedy of the year, watch "The Nice Guys".

The Nice Guys is a hit

This movie is very action-packed and filled with dirty humour, but that's what makes it so much fun to watch. The actors were good and the storyline and writing were really well done.

Awesome! Not for younger viewers though.

I went to see it today without that high hopes, but it was awesome! An action film with some terrific sequences and plot twists, but the comedy was sensational! One-liners, slapstick, and the heartwarming odd moral twist from the (very impressive) Angourie Rice as 13-year old Holly. The chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe is awesome, and it was a delight to watch from start to finish.

In terms of content, it's really not for younger viewers. Lots of references to sex between people of different ages, characters watch, discuss and even participate in pornographic films, attend parties with strippers where nothing's left to the imagination, and there's a scene of sex viewed from the side which I believe was actually taken from a porn film. One of the main characters is an alcoholic and a regular smokers. There's also a lot of quite bloody violence - innocent people are killed in graphic, violent ways, and the main characters also engage in the odd bit of murder. I'd say 16-year olds should be absolutely fine. I strongly recommend it - you won't be disappointed!

Entertaining and very funny action comedy is very mature and fun but gets gory.

This sexy, mature, and very violent comedy tale starts off with the booze drinker, weed smoker man named Holland March. After his wife is killed in a fire, his thirteen year old daughter Holly is the smart one in the family of two. March is a detective who is currently working on a case after an elder woman reports that she saw her niece, a dead porn star named Myste, alive, but March doesn't believe her because the porn star was found dead in an accident three days ago. Suddenly, March is involved in finding a woman named Emilia, who is the daughter of the head of the police, and the beater upper, Jackson Healy joins the mission with Holland, and they become buddies. They have to go on a mission to find Emilia, after the find out that Emilia was involved in a protest to kill her mother, but there are some other plot secrets going on. What's Emilia's real story? Will they find her? What is her mother involved with? Violence 4/5: Violence is strong and frequent, and gets pretty graphic/bloody. Characters are shot, blown to bits, stabbed, smashed, and fall to their death, which involves plenty of gory wounds and splattering blood. A man is shot in the head, and a gory, decomposing body is shown. A young teenage girl is shot in the back and killed with blood pooling and flowing from the wound. Teen girl gets in a bloody car crash with gory cuts on her stomach, and is presumed dead. A teenager girl is frequently in-danger, and even almost kills someone. A girl is smashed through glass and breaks her arm. A man smashes his hand through glass and he almost dies with blood splattering everywhere out of the wound. Explosions blow off bloody limbs. A man falls to his death with a huge, gory splatter. A man is hit by a car and killed with a very gory face. Smashing with objects. A man falls down a hill. A man is shot in the arm with a huge shotgun, but uses the butt of the gun to brutally kill, and smash a man. A man's arm is broken. References to a man being burned in a fire. A man is beaten and smashed with bloody nose wounds. A man is stabbed through the neck and blood splatters. A man is shot multiple times in the neck and then falls to his death with gory results. Sexual content and nudity 4/5: Although the film resolves around porn, not too much is shown, but there is tons of sex talk, and a bit of nudity but not too many sex scenes. Two naked mermaids are shown kissing topless in a pool briefly. Reference to rim jobs. Sexual references and conversations get explicit. Two teen girls are seen watching a porn film, and the volume is high with lots of moaning. Brief clip from a porn film with a naked bottom visible. Explicit references about sexual positions in porn movies. At a party, full-frontally naked women are shown preforming lap dances with genitalia visible. Kissing and making out. Language 4/5: Frequent, strong language includes many uses of "f--k," "s--t," "d--k," "p---y," and "c--k," which are also spoken by teens. Drinking and drugs 4/5: A character has a drinking and smoking problem which includes nearly constant weed smoking, and hard alcohol drinking. References to heroine. A character takes pills. Although this movie is filled with sex, language, violence, and drug use, anyone who can handle the content and is mature, can see this movie, but the first thirty minutes are very confusing, but the plot is the most important part, it's very interesting how they made this movie, especially with Gosling and Crow. My rating:R for strong violence and language throughout, brief drug use, and sexual content including graphic nudity.
