Claustrophobic at times but steady
This film is a slow burn that threads its story through a series of clues, acknowledgements and foreshadowing that invites viewers to lean in and take notice. Everyone in the film convinces us of their shortcomings. It is layered and does not offer a specific solution, the film just reveals, layer after layer. Wide open spaces appear to be claustrophobic under the direction of Campion, and that's a compliment.
