Just boring
The movie was overhyped, it was advertised as SpongeBob and Patrick went on a epic quest and battle king Poseidon to save Gary, and it ended up with one quest that had a cringy song to me. They didn’t even fight Poseidon and did the cliche teaching a simple lesson and the villain changes to the good side. Most boring and the worst SpongeBob movie ever.

Stupid movie
The Zombie pirates were just NO,NO,NO! Way too creepy for kids under 10. The fact that Danny Trejo was in here also made the movie bad too.

Funny story and antics turn bland in this third movie.
Really childlike and disappointing, compared to what I expected after seeing the original movie and Sponge out of Water. The only reason I am rating this two stars instead of one is because the live action human guest stars such as Keneau Reeves and Snoop Dogg was a little brightening at times.

Meh.
This is my sisters review. This movie is not great but not terrible either. Especially the fact that they made it right after steven hillenburg DIED. So my only word about this movie is... meh.

Great sequel is very similar to the first two movies and the TV series.
This one is fully CG animated, and it shares a message about courage and friendship (again, as least subtly as possible.) It’s also much weirder than the first two movies, with things that make no sense, but it’s still a really great thrill ride for both kids and adults.
Violence 5/10: Lots of cartoon violence and minor live-action violence, including the (rather humorous) death of a lesser antagonist in live-action (being burned to ash). Lots of peril ensues in the adventure, although it is meant to be more funny than anything. Lots of slapstick. Many of the antagonists (including zombies) can be menacing. There is threatening of execution, and dread following the threats.
Sex 3/10: Plankton’s butt is seen, and so is Spongebob in his underwear. Mild innuendos are used.
Language 4/10: “Crappy” is used twice by Spongebob in the same scene. “Boob” used as an insult. “Freaking” is used as a substitute for the f-word once. Many other insults are used, as well as rude dialogue and disrespectful behavior.
Drug use 4/10: Bar scenes with zombies drinking. Other scenes like that when they reach Atlantic City. Spongebob and Patrick act crazy, and it’s implied they have been drinking a lot.
