Dont even torture yourself to sit through this movie the rhyming is repetitive and annoying Thomas is peer pressured and it feels like Thomas doesn't have a driver Its not realistic and its complete garbage so dont bother with this abomination of a film

Kid loves it, parents think it's fine with great messages

Our son loves most anything Thomas, so it's no surprise that he liked this movie. I found the Misty Island characters to be odd and dull at the same time, but he seems to like them. I find the whole series to be a little boring, but the messages about friendship, responsibility and good manners are a parent's dream

Good Thomas movie, just not the best

We've seen many of the other full-length Thomas movies (Great Discovery, Magic Railroad, Hero of the Rails) and this one is not quite as good as those, in my opinion, but my 3 & 5 year old love it. I just find the voices of the new engines to be annoying. I'd much rather watch Magic Railroad or Hero of the Rails. At least it's an interesting and suspensful movie.

Too much scary peril for 4 year olds

Took a trio of four and a half year olds to see this (all very keen on the previous Thomas movies) and all 3 ended up hiding in our laps saying it was too scary. The peril scenes are really extended without the quick 'happy ending' resolutions of previous Thomas films, and the more sophisticated animation takes this to the next level of realism compared to the previous versions. We were very glad that we didnt bring younger siblings as well. OK for 5 year olds and over but most kids are growing out of Thomas at that age so I wonder if the film-makers have just got this wrong? Also be aware that after the end credits there is yet another menacing moment (trailing the next movie, presumably) which unsettled the kids all over again!

no one should watch this.

This story contains some scenes where peer pressure is an issue. Thomas is bullied into crossing a unsafe bridge. The bridge itself is unsound and might inspire children to attempt to do similar unsafe things. The story is bland.
