What's the Story?

Dr. Nora Tidemann (Ine Marie Wilmann) is pulled out of forced retirement by old buddy Andreas Isaksen (Kim Falck) in TROLL 2. There's a new experiment taking place on a troll that she didn't believe still existed. In one quick moment, Nora wakes up the troll, who breaks loose and storms out of the detention center. This troll is different—he's angry, and he's now eating humans too. Will Nora and Andreas, now a soon-to-be-father with girlfriend Siggy (Karoline Viktoria Sletteng Garvang), be able to discover why the troll is so angry and how he can be stopped in time? They'll be reunited with Kris (Mads Sjogard Pettersen), now a major, and scientist Marion (Sara Khorami).

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

They may be following a Hollywood formula, but the Norwegians have made this successful sequel all about them. Troll 2 does exactly what it sets out to do. The return of likeable characters and introduction of new ones, fast-paced action, tension-inducing music, and universal human drama all work to make this a fun sequel. The film also throws in some Da Vinci Code-style Norwegian history-mystery cracking to good effect, so long as you are willing to suspend total disbelief on the speed of discovery, casual removal of artifacts, and of course the troll-driven action. The ending anticipates Troll 3.
