Welcome to Marwen

I think Welcome to Marwen is now one of my favorite movies! I found the movie really fun. I like how the guy from The Office is in it. I wasn't expecting the PTSD part of it, because befroe I watched this I had only seen scenes of dolls. I like how it's based off of a true story. It's really funny but in some parts I cringed a little.

The movie was not as expected, it seemed that the movie tried to tie multiple universal probably to become one unpolitically correct crap storm. The producers opinion got in the way of the story trying to make a guy who has a tragic story and shaping him into some sort of hero. As a proud grandson of real a veteran, seeing this guy act as a WWII vet when he never fought on a battle field (as said in the movie) is devastating. Not trying to make his story less than because hate crime is an awful occurrence and should not ever happen, but stealing other stories for your own purpose makes me upset!!! Not worth buying!!!

I loved it.

Although the movie has an amazing cast and interesting plot, the violence and sexualization is over the top. There is an abundance of violence with the dolls, even though it is obviously fake, is still disturbing. All the female dolls are extremely sexualized versions of the humans they represent. Also, the main character was high on his anti-anxiety meds the whole time. The movie could have been done well had it been written differently, I liked the idea. I have never walked out of a movie in a theater before, but this one was just too much.

when you see the trailer for this movie it may look like a quiet sad movie, when in reality it has more action than expected. this movie is getting bad reviews but i mainly think it’s because they were expecting something different. more that half the movie is set in the dolls world and has a lot of action. this may not be liked by some, but it was there because this is marks world. it is meant to show that he is not right in his head and he cannot differentiate reality and marwencol and that he cannot get out of his war with addiction and PTSD. the movie could have been more organized and in times was almost confusing, but if you feel for mark it is truly a well done movie.
