What's It About?

R.L. STINE'S STORY CLUB is a podcast series based on the spooky tales of well-known author R.L. Stine. Each season has its own spooky story thread. Some are self-contained stories, while others are ongoing narratives. Scary situations can range from fun and lighthearted to genuinely creepy. In each tale, the characters must uncover the truth behind a mystery and figure out how to get out of sticky situations. Some tales have lessons, while others don't tie loose ends and are left to open interpretation. Parents and kids may recognize some familiar voices, like Ariel Winter, who plays the main character, Ivy, in season one of the podcast.

Anyone who loved the Goosebumps book series will love this delightfully spooky podcast. R.L. Stine's Story Club isn't simply a re-creation of the books, it's a series of new original stories that maintain the spirit of the spine-tingling classic. This podcast is a great entryway for kids who are interested in scary stories but aren't quite ready to watch scary movies made for tweens and teens.

The stories in the show are well-written and feature some familiar voice actors and creepy sound effects. Each episode ranges in scariness level, so it's helpful for parents to look over episode descriptions and even preview the episode to make sure it's not too scary for younger kids. Still, the podcast maintains a fun and lighthearted format, boosting kids' imaginations while introducing them to more sophisticated forms of storytelling.
