What's It About?

Sean and Robot's Comedy Circuit, part of the UK-based Fun Kids podcast network, is a comedy podcast about humans and robots interacting with each other, telling jokes, creating silly songs and fake movie trailers, and insulting each other. Listeners can contribute ideas for trailers or songs they'd like to hear created by the podcast. Robot voices, British accents, raucous music, sound effects, and reaction tracks add entertainment value to the humor, which frequently includes insults but no swearing. No academic content or life lessons add educational value. Some skits include references to popular games, toys, and characters like Among Us, Pokemon, and Daffy Duck.

Is It Any Good?

While there is a generally positive sense of community amongst the characters, this podcast is too heavy on the teasing to be a family or classroom hit. SEAN AND ROBOT'S COMEDY CIRCUIT works to entertain, but has the potential of modeling unkind behavior, but focusing so much on insults as a source of quality humor for impressionable kids. The raucous music, frequent sound effects, and crowd reaction tracks throughout each episode might make the listening experience as overwhelming to kids and as it is obnoxious to adults.

It's fun and funny to hear listeners' ideas converted into fake movie trailers and songs, and Katy's introductions to the songs add some positivity and creativity. But the "Arnold Goldberger's Insult Club" segment models unkind insults that most families probably won't want to hear repeated at home or in the classroom.
