What's It About?
WINX CLUB follows the adventures of a group of fairies—Bloom, Layla, Tecna, Flora, Stella, and Musa—who each have individual magical powers. For example, Musa is the fairy of music and can cast a sound-sucking spell that creates silence, and Stella is the fairy of the shining sun and can cast a light spell that (temporarily) blinds the villains. The Winx work together to fight the evil wizards who are trying to stop humans from believing in magic. They must protect Roxy, the last fairy on Earth, and also help her learn about her fairy powers. Each episode features plenty of action and spell-casting.
Is It Any Good?
This is an entertaining podcast that will appeal to young listeners who enjoy stories about fairies, magic, and battles between good and evil. The fairies' unique personalities and abilities make them interesting characters, and the storylines are engaging enough to keep kids listening to Winx Club. Because it's an audio adaptation of an animated show, it does require that you pay close attention to the different voices and follow the narration and scene changes. It will definitely have the most appeal to children who are already fans of the series.
