What's It About?

WOW IN THE WORLD is a fun and engaging podcast that incorporates science education into exciting adventures lead by Mindy and Guy. Mindy is quirky and inquisitive while Guy is more hesitant, but both compliment each other and share a passion and curiosity for science and the world around them. Together, the pair and their friends often find themselves wrapped up in experiences that teach them about science, technology and how the world works . The clear, crisp production value along with Mindy's silly sound effects and playful music makes each episode a smooth listen for an audience of all ages. The show's focus on characters and story make it feel like a science podcast mixed within a sitcom. This distinctive approach will likely keep listeners more interested in the scientific topics covered. New episodes release every Monday. "Two Whats?! And a Wow!" mini-episodes are posted in between full episodes of the main show and create a game show format around listeners' own scientific observations. Other special episodes -- such as the "Camp WeWow Magic Week" and "Back to School WeWow" runs -- keep the listening experience fresh week to week. Kid listeners are encourage to join in the fun by submitting voicemails of their favorite scientific fun facts, which are featured on each episode.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 8 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

Finding a podcast that both adults and children can enjoy in equal measure is often a tall order. However, Wow in the World strikes just the right balance between educating listeners and being a ton of fun to listen to. In addition to its crisp audio, whimsical music, and top-notch voice talent, the show's silly characters -- including the fan-favorite pigeon Reggie -- and surprising, high-energy stories make it an easy podcast to recommend. In fact, these aspects set it apart from other, more straightforward science podcasts for kids.

Wow in the World feels more like a science-focused kid's sitcom. It emphasizes making the listening experience enjoyable and its scientific lessons are easy to digest. Children won't feel like they're learning until they're already invested in the characters' antics. The show's goal isn't to complete a lesson plan but to encourage kids' natural curiosity about the world around them. It certainly doesn't hurt that adults will likely find themselves chuckling and learning right alongside their little ones.
