What's the Story?
100 FOOT WAVE begins by following Garrett McNamara on his quest to surf a 100-foot-tall wave. As McNamara strives and fails, the series opens its focus to McNamara's family and his community of surfers.
Is It Any Good?
This series peels back the curtain on a community of big wave surfers who gather in Portugal each year to show the painstaking work that goes into being a professional athlete. 100 Foot Wave central figure Garrett McNamara and his peers balance the drive to compete with the challenges of injury, aging, family, and shifting priorities. The series is stretched beyond its simple premise, making it leisurely and often uneventful. But dedicated viewers will enjoy the lovely vistas of Portugal and insightful moments in the lives of these athletes.
