Fun show about teenage life suitable for preteens and above.

While 6teen does have a bit of an "edge" to it compared to what you might see on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network today, all it really adds up to is a few innuendos and plays on words. Nothing that a simple TV-PG rating can't cover. Some episodes of the show touch on issues such as breast size and menstrual cycles; however, these topics are handled in a matter that is properly reserved and appropriate for the preteen audience.

Parents who give bad feedback cause it’s “inappropriate for kids”, be aware. None of the fresh TV animated shows are intended for kids. They’re all PG rated. They’re teen or adult animated. Kids won’t understand much in this show as it’s very grounded in realism with its writing and humor, compared to sister series Total Drama. The comedy is all from the character dynamics and dialogue. While this is a clean show in terms of language, (there’s like no profanity like “bitch” or “shit”, but there is the occasional “hell” or “ass”) compared to today’s adult cartoons (Rick and Morty, etc), there are some suggestive themes about teens, it is a teenage show after all. Lots of positive messages and lessons in this show and there’s some heart. Very underrated show.

My favourite show ever.

Wouldn't advise it for kids under the age of 11 and may not even be suitable for 11-12 year olds too. I recall watching a tiny bit of 6teen here and there when I was in elementary school, as it was on quite often and we only had 2 kids' channels (ytv and teletoon), but not liking it much. Watching it years later however I love this show and find it super relatable. Definitely one of the best young adult cartoons and one of the best Canadian shows out there. The entire show is available on youtube for free. On the rare occasion there is nudity on the show, it is censored by black boxes. As far as appropriateness goes, in one episode a male character makes a pottery bowl that inadvertently resembles a boob, eliciting comments from both male and female characters. On two occasions, a female character is seen either partially or fully nude by her step-brother who is the same age. In another occasion, a female character's chest is exposed in front of a group of boys and girls when she has a wardrobe malfunction. In another episode, a male character streaks naked in front of the show's female characters. In another episode, the male characters go through the girls' purses and find tampons, realizing that the girls are on their period. That's as lewd as it ever gets but usually the show is more appropriate/safe.

Look into it more

Im 14, and I was watching the first episode and I even was looking at the age rating. I feel like it should be a 13 and up show, depends on how mature your kid is. No one 10 and under should be watching it in my opinion.

6Teen Review

I love this show! It's funny and the animation is really cool. I would only let kids over 12 watch this. I wouldn't say they use strong language, but the show can be suggestive. Jonsey is an entertaining character, but he is obsessed with scamming people and girls. The teens are okay role models, they can be lazy, self obsessed and mean, but the show also has a theme of togetherness. The show is basically about the ups and downs of teen life.

Teenagers? Yes! Children under 13? NO!

I have heard (in the english version) the characters say crap, unless my hearing is off I do not in anyway think this is a suitable show for children, also, almost nudity? (Jude sky diving naked) Not suitable for children maybe teenagers but definitely not children.

I like it

I'm 18 and still find it enjoyable. The characters can be annoying sometimes, but other times, it's really funny. They perhaps make it look a bit too easy to get a job though. Language can include normal insults, and a few c-words, and one character almost says the a-word, but doesn't. Talk of seeing girls naked, one is- nothing shown of course, and a few girls are rarely, but entirely shown, in their bras and panties, though for a short time only. In one episode, a character tries to make a pottery bowl for his girlfriend, but his friends think it's a breast, and occasionally use the word boob, and... it really does look like one.

little redeeming value for Elementary kids - wait till they turn 13+

I am careful to WATCH shows with my step-kids (especially since they have seen EVERYTHING with their other parent) This show is for older kids (above 13) For teens this is an appropriate show. My kids are all under that age and they can't process the subtle positive message about responsibility and loyalty to your friends, the language and content is geared for the young teen age and 9 is just to young. Plus my youngest is 7 and the difference in critical thinking skills is too much so we won't be watching this until the youngest hits AT LEAST double digit age. Parents need to remember CARTOON NETWORK ISN'T JUST FOR YOUNG KIDS!
