A Killer Paradox
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, A KILLER PARADOX is a crime thriller about a college student who becomes an accidental serial killer and a police investigator's efforts to find him. Six months earlier Lee Tang (Choi Woo-Shik) finished his compulsory military service and now attends college and works at a local convenience store while dreaming about visiting the Canadian Rockies. Everything is pretty boring until he finds a former customer unconscious at the end of a shift and accidentally kills another one. With only a blind woman as a witness to what transpired, Lee flees the scene, but is so guilt-ridden that he thinks about turning himself in. When the man he murdered is identified as a wanted serial killer, Lee soon realizes that he has the uncanny ability to know if someone he crosses paths with is a violent criminal. As Lee continues to violently terminate the lives of offenders, Detective Jang Nan-gam (Son Suk-ku) is determined to find out who Lee is and bring him to justice. But his dedication also uncovers some secrets from his past.
Is It Any Good?
The violent K-drama is a cat-and-mouse game that questions the motives of a young man operating as a vigilante killer of people with a history of committing terrible crimes. A Killer Paradox begins as a simple tale of accidental murder, but quickly becomes more complicated as new characters and strange twists are introduced into the narrative. Meanwhile, the frequent assaults and murders are often shown in slow motion, creating what are supposed to be offbeat, albeit brutal, moments throughout. Overall, A Killer Paradox is an interesting thriller that requires close attention to fully understand what's happening. Some will find it more disturbing than entertaining.

Families can talk about vigilante justice. Is it ever OK to hurt people because they hurt someone else? What happens in your country to people who are caught taking the law into their own hands?
Could A Killer Paradox be less violent and still tell a good crime story? How?
