A Love So Beautiful
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In A LOVE SO BEAUTIFUL Chen Xiaoxi (She Yue, Meteor Garden) is not the greatest student; she copies her friends' homework and constantly loses things. But she has her eye on one of the most popular boys in her school, Jiang Chen (Yitian Hu). Looking for advice from outside sources fails her. But as the school year progresses and she makes more friends, Chen Xiaoxi strives to become someone Jiang Chen can be proud to call his girlfriend. Will she succeed?
Is It Any Good?
A charming, watchable show from China highlights the organic acting talents of its main female lead. Innocence and glee characterize the moods of A Love So Beautiful. Some bullying teachers and slightly shaming messages about body weight are not as delightful, but otherwise this is a winning show about an underdog who's aiming high.
Families who enjoy cute rom-coms can enjoy this one together. Tweens who are in the mood for a light romance will want to see if the awkward, funny girl wins over the popular boy.
