A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this TV show.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Action Pack is an animated superhero show featuring four kids learning to do good. There's lots of action and adventure, but characters never feel like they're in peril. The superheroes are on missions to stop silly villains who cause mischief, and they express fleeting expressions of dislike towards those villains. There are a few silly weapons-ish objects like a flower sword that slices snowballs. Otherwise, Action Pack is a fun show that emphasizes social-emotional lessons for older preschoolers.

What's the Story?
Action Pack follows the adventures of four kid superheroes-in-training as they attend Action Academy. There's Watts with super electric zap power, Clay with shape-shifting plasma power, Wren with animal powers, and Treena with plant powers. Their robot dog Plunky transmits their incoming mission of the day, and their mentor Mr. Ernesto supports them from mission control. Their missions are problems like needing to catch the thief stealing dinosaur bones from the museum, or stopping Cold Snap from freezing the whole city of Hope Springs. Even though they're still learning, can Action Pack figure out how to work together to save the day?
Is It Any Good?
Kids who are into superheroes but aren't quite ready for hair-raising adventure will enjoy these less intense superhero adventures. The Action Pack characters' powers are fun, and the problems they have to solve are so clearly not real that little ones won't worry. Grown-ups will appreciate that each episode has a positive message easy for preschoolers to understand. However, the characters and storylines are fairly bland and derivative. Without a strong story hook or character connection, kids may prefer stick to tried and true superheroes like Paw Patrol or PJ Masks instead.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about villains. Are they always trying to do something bad, or do they just not understand things sometimes? Do you think the villains learn their lesson in this show?
If you could choose to have the superpowers of Wren, Clay, Treena, or Watts, which would you choose and why? Do you think there could be anything bad or annoying about having those superpowers?
