This has become family favorite. This is unlike most reality TV shows in that there is no overt humiliation, no nastiness, no plotting and scheming. Nearly all the contestants come out smiling, talking about trying again. Rivals cheer each other on and applaud accomplishments of all kinds. Underdogs and eccentrics are celebrated and encouraged. Support networks — friends, families, fellow competitors — are showcased. The announcers are also consistently positive. There no failures and no losers here.
Only issue for us is that kids want to emulate what they see. The segments on how contestants train are a great window on the risks and how to do it safely, and how people find ways to stay fit in all sorts of circumstances.
It's a little cheesy. I'm as surprised as anyone how much we like it!
