What's the Story?

BEYOND GOODBYE follows the lives and love story of Saeko (Kasumi Arimura) and Yusuke (Tôma Ikuta) who we meet on a bus trip up a snowy mountain. After Yusuke accidentally slips that he's going to propose, an avalanche sends the bus off the mountain. Saeko survives, but Yusuke doesn't; his heart is donated to another person, Naruse (Kentarô Sakaguchi). Saeko dives into her work, struggling to process life without her fiancé. On her way back home from a work trip in Hawaii, she hears a familiar song someone is playing on the airport piano. The same song her Yusuke played when they first met each other years ago. Where could this connection take them?

This series explores the places love can reach beyond death. Beyond Goodbye delivers a bittersweet cup of charm, chemistry, and grief. The actors' performances are very tender in this unique narrative on reincarnation and romance. Despite the focus on romance and a bit of swearing, this show is suitable for most teens.
