Blippi's Wonderful Talent Show
What's the Story?
In BLIPPI'S WONDERFUL TALENT SHOW, Blippi and Meekah are putting together a talent show and looking for friends with unique hobbies or talents to present. Meekah is good at singing and Lono is good at dancing, but Blippi has a hard time figuring out what he's good at. As they meet their friends and mentors, Blippi recognizes his special skill and finds that the best way to do things is whichever way we are comfortable doing them.
Is It Any Good?
The special is a step up from the usual Blippi content, with messages of empowerment and self-esteem that are bound to resonate with even younger viewers. Blippi's Wonderful Talent Show takes a setting that can be scary for kids and turns it into an opportunity to look inside for ways to feel powerful. By celebrating our bodies and how they allow us to explore our talents and abilities, the special teaches kids to embrace their uniqueness. The positive messages are supported by real moments that show talent comes in many ways, shapes, forms, heights, etc.
As Blippi and Meekah help their friends get ready for the talent show, they also try new skills and don't always succeed. It underscores that we learn at different speeds and it's OK if we aren't good at everything. If the special feels a bit long, notice that the narrative is split into segments so you can take one segment at a time.
