What's the Story?

CAPTAINS OF THE WORLD is a docuseries that follows the 32 football (aka soccer) players who competed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. From the first group stages to the final match, it features interviews with sports experts and captains from qualifying teams, including Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo and Senegal's Kalidou Koulibably. These discuss the various highs and lows experienced on and off the pitch, including unexpected eliminations and some of the political issues that were addressed at that time. They also share their thoughts about other players, teams, and significant moments throughout the competition. Archive footage of different matches and some emotional behind-the-scenes moments reveals how players coped with pressure, injuries, and other challenges.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 2 ):

This retrospective offers viewers a chance to see what it was like both on and off the field for the teams that competed in 2022's FIFA World Cup. It offers a very condensed narrative of the tournament's start, mainly highlighting the more prominent teams and biggest upsets. But as eliminations continue, more time is spent following specific teams and players. The interviews featured throughout are interesting, but the combination of behind-the-scenes footage and high-stakes moments in key matches is what makes Captains of the World an emotional and entertaining watch. No doubt that football fans will enjoy it.
