What's the Story?

CHEF'S TABLE: NOODLES, an installment of the Chef's Table documentary franchise, profiles four renowned chefs who have mastered the art of noodle making in their own way. Los Angeles Chef and pastaiolo Evan Funke, London-based Xi'an Chef Guiron Wei, Oakland-based American Cambodian Chef Nite Yun, and Chef Peppe Guida, who creates innovative dishes in the Campania region of Italy, showcase the craftsmanship that goes into preparing the noodles in some of their dishes. With the help of interviews, each chef talks about the deep and very personal connections they have to the noodles and other food they specialize in. Their paths to where they are today, and the triumphs and failures they've experienced throughout their journeys, are also discussed. Each chef has a different story to tell, but they have a collective desire to preserve the traditional craft and culture associated with the noodles they serve.

The interesting, moving, and mouth-watering series features diverse chefs talking about how noodles and noodle making represent who they are, their culture, and their individual journeys. They also make a point of highlighting the people and events that inspire them, and how they continue to celebrate them today. As with all the installments of the franchise, Chef's Table: Noodles allows them the chance to briefly showcase their restaurants and the foods they serve. Viewers have the chance to see, close up, a beautiful presentation of different meals so vibrant that you can almost taste and smell them. Overall, it's a heartfelt series that gives viewers a better understanding of why chefs do what they do.
