What's the Story?

Hosted by Jason Biggs, CHERRIES WILD is a game show featuring teams playing with the world's biggest slot machine to win cash. Each episode features one team of two players answering rounds of trivia questions. A correct answer can win them cash, free spins, or one of the five wild cherries they need to win the $250K jackpot. A wrong answer sends them to the next question with nothing. The final "Payday Round" gives them a chance to win the big money, and to win extra perks and cash for themselves, as well as someone who is playing along at home, with the help of the show's app.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

Kids say : Not yet rated

This lively but basic series has contestants testing their luck and pop culture knowledge in order to win enough cash and spins to increase their odds of winning the jackpot. And like any game show, there's a fair share of banter to break the tension, which host Biggs contributes to with some corny humor.

Many of the questions are extremely easy, and there are a lot of opportunities for contestants to win. Meanwhile, Cherries Wild feels like a promotional vehicle for Pepsi, a co-sponsor of the show. Ultimately, it isn't the most sophisticated of game shows, but one that's fun enough for a half an hour.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about game shows. Is the host that makes a game show interesting? Or is it the game itself? If you were invited to compete on a game show, would you do it?

  • Game shows and other unscripted TV series can act as advertising vehicles for show sponsors. Does Cherries Wild take this too far? What are some of the ways to help kids learn how identify how marketers are targeting them?
