What's the Story?
In COOKIE, CUPCAKE, CAKE, professional bakers from across the United States vie for the chance to be "Triple C Champion." In each episode, four contestants are judged by hosts Buddy Valastro (Cake Boss) and cookbook author Samantha Seneviratne as they move through three rounds of themed baking challenges. First, they aim to impress the judges with their cookie decorating, then with their cupcake baking and decorating, and finally with their show-stopping cake centerpiece. After each round, one contestant is eliminated, until two chefs go head-to-head to become the episode's "Triple C Champion."
Is It Any Good?
This family-friendly baking competition show doesn't stand out from other formulaic Food Network-style competition shows, but it's still a fun watch. Cookie, Cupcake, Cake has some eye-roll-inducing dramatization of minor baking setbacks, and some good-natured competitive ribbing between contestants, but the tone is overall very positive. The baking professionals are immensely talented, and kids who are interested in decorating cakes and cookies will love seeing the bakers' final creations.
