What's the Story?

In CUNK ON LIFE, Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) investigates life on earth, from the big bang to cloning and AI. She discusses (inaccurately) each topic with a true expert in the field.

It's telling that Diane Morgan's signature character was created under Charlie Brooker, who also created Black Mirror. Cunk on Life, along with the rest of Philomena Cunk's body of work, may be the comedy to Black Mirror's tragedy, but both are responding to what they view as our dystopian present. But where Black Mirror is a warning to viewers about the dangers of technology, Cunk tends to be about coping with a future that's already here. Morgan's deadpan portrayal of the often-clueless reporter combines with some of the sharpest comedy writing on TV to create a spot-on and hilarious satire that stares into oblivion and smirks.
