Absolutely excellent series! Make a season 2 Netflix!!!

This is one of the best series I've ever seen. I absolutely loved it! It's so sad that it was cancelled after 1 season. It had already been cancelled before I even came across it on Netflix. That's by far the worst aspect of Netflix. If something isn't in the "Top 10" you may not ever come across something even. And before the "Top 10" was a thing you could miss things entirely. And may not even know about it at all. Anyway, it's a great series but definitely has explicit language, extreme violence, and probably isn't for anyone under 12ish. I don't know. I would have absolutely loved this when I was a young kid though! It's literally what every young boy dreams of! I would day dream about things just like this when I was a kid. So It's tough for me to say someone should be 12+. Because I know how much kids might enjoy it. Maybe with adult supervision. Or if you're a "cool parent". Lol. Also if you're a 40 year old 12 year old like myself, you should absolutely positively 10000% watch it if you've not seen it! And if you have seen it, you should probably watch it again. Because it's that dang good!!! Also, the main character has a pretty cool name.

My favourite show

This is fine for children 13 and up, they would have seen much worse stuff than this by that age anyway. Great show, worth a watch.

Constant Swearing

There is a lot of swearing and gore just because they can. The swearing is so frequent that it is distracting. I had to stop after the first three episodes and it wasn't easy to get through those. The only likeable character is a teacher turned zombie witch. Overall, very immature.

Entertaining but not for kids

I think Daybreak is a clever, campy, fun take on an apocalyptic story. I'm enjoying the overall storyline as as an adult but the "kids" in the show use the f-word to the point where I don't want my kids within earshot while I'm watching. There's also a bathroom sex scene between a 15 year old girl and an 18 year old boy that I wouldn't want my kids to see. The drug use is consistent and one plot line has a ten year old girl playing a high school "drug dealer".

Fantastic Binge

As a show geared towards teenagers, I think 14 is a good base age to begin with. With access to internet and media, teens have most likely heard of or seen most things represented on this show. Some might see issue with the glorification of drug dealing (as seen with Angelica/Wesley), but I think if your teen is mature enough to separate media and real life, it shouldn't be a problem. Another point of interest is the representation of gay relationships. A lot of older adults are stuck in the 80s and 90s, when it was okay to hate things because they were "gay". Don't be turned off from the premise because there are two gay characters who care for one another. Normalization is the future. All around a good show if you aren't too picky with gore, swearing, and sex.

A little too much sexy stuff

This T.V show does a great job of relating to modern day trends and norms of highschool in a weird post, apocalyptic, way. There is a lot of gore which if thats not your thing I would watch this show but I'm subtracting 2 stars because of all the sex refrences and the fact that a 10 YEAR OLD is basically a drug dealer. Plus swearing.

Hilarious, violent, meta comedy is best for older teens.

Parents need to know that Daybreak is a comedy following Josh Wheeler, a teenager in the apocalypse trying to find his girlfriend. The show is meant for teenagers, and most adults won’t get it’s more subtle internet references. As far as mature content, violence is probably the best place to start. The show has shooting, stabbing, and buckets of blood and gore. Still, all of this is fairly comedic, but there is some more serious violence. There are a few sex scenes, and one in a bathroom with an underage girl. There is also a fair amount of innuendo, as well as drug references. One character is almost always smoking pot, and there is some underage drinking. There is also TONS of swearing, almost to the point were it became annoying. Overall, no matter how bad this content may sound, this is all in an attempt to create a realistic teenager environment. Your teen swears, watches porn, and plays violent video games. This isn’t going to be foreign to them, and that is a big part of why it is so good. I just beg that you don’t watch this together, because it is just going to be really uncomfortable.
