Absolutely hilarious

Derry Girls is positively inspired. The swearing and humour/references in general are all quite crass, but that is typical of most British comedy. This show is so much better than those endless American sitcoms, like friends and the Big Bang theory, that run for 12 seasons and are entirely devoid of any humour. I completely recommend this show, but it is definitely not appropriate for family viewing and I suggest waiting until you feel you’re old enough to watch it by yourself, because I could totally see it becoming awkward if you watched it with a parent or other adult family member. Finally, I think it is appropriate for 11+ because the show does not condone or encourage swearing and the other iffy behaviour portrayed in the series, as the character always face the consequences of their actions.

This is my favorite show! Not suitable for youngsters

I love this show! It’s hilarious and has amazing actors! I don’t think because of all of the heavy swearing (Michelle’s catch phrase is ‘what’s up mother f_ _ _ _rs’) and talk of “riding” that this is appropriate for someone under 11, it’s an amazing show! There is no s_x just talk of doing it.

Funny but also heartfelt and emotiona, amazing and hilarious.

This show is literally the funniest thing I've ever watched. 🤣. But it is so emotional and beautifully made, it might make you cry. There is a theme of war throughout the story and it actually happened in the time the show is set. There is talks of sex and genitals but nothing is shown. There is heavy swearing. There are no deaths, (except one) but its not graphic and more sad because nothing is shown. This show is the best and I would 100 percent recommend it. This is the best show ever and I highly

I love this show there is swearing but not more than anyone over 9 can't handle. Sex is sometimes discussed but not in any shocking way. There is underage drinking and smoking shown but still not socking. It's really funny and I loved watching it. It takes place in the 90's in Ireland so you see teenagers' perspective to all the troubles.

Great Show!!!

Your kid doesn’t really need to be mature to watch it, half of the time they won’t know what’s going on. I’ve seen Derry Girls a bunch of times and nothing rude ever happens. Yes there’s kissing. Yes there’s swearing but it’s a teen show. Michelle is probably the rudest it gets and all she cares about is rides/fit men and having fun. Set in a catholic school in Derry. Amazing show!!
