Kid reviews for Devilman Crybaby

OKAY so before anyone comes for me, read this whole review. The show is INCREDIBLY graphic, with guts flying across the screen every 5 minutes BUT, I feel like it really just depends on the emotional maturity of your kid, like i said before it is really gory, but I watched this at a very young age and i enjoyed it. The show itself is very good. Art style is iffy and sexual content is too much.

It is an amazing anime that has so many deep themes and really showcases the shit of humanity. It also has a lot of sex, violence and drugs but like I said previously, that is just to showcase the animalistic, shitty side of humanity.

Devilman crybaby is over the top in every way. From psychedelic sex scenes to gore Devilman has it all. This, in it of itself is not what makes Devilman bad though. What makes Devilman bad is it’s complete lack of fluid storytelling combined with its unnecessary character arch’s, and random violence that doesn’t add to the plot. In addition, characters throughout the story randomly change their personalities for the plot. In conclusion, I would not recommend Devilman Crybaby to anyone, as it’s only purpose is to try and be remembered as exceedingly disturbing.

Sex and gore is frequent but never overshadows the mature and deep themes of the story.

It’s obvious common sense only watch the first episode everything they say about the show (besides that it’s bad) is completely true but even from all the over the top action and sex it’s a really good show about love and true human nature

I really hate this, it's gory, people guts go flying in the air which is disgusting, this should really be a 18+ because basically it says 18 and probably if your child can handle the brutal bloody violence and gore slash sexual content.

There is obviously a ton of sex, violence, and drugs, however the art style makes it look less edgy and slightly easier to stomach. Still not anything that should be close to kids. That said, I feel like the common sense review for this is actual crap. If you don’t look deep enough of course you’ll be concerned about the events going on. if you do though, it actually tells a really great story that has a lot someone could learn from. Akira (for the most part, there’s definitely some icky stuff) could be considered a good role model. The story’s actually kind of sad in a ton of parts, though I might just be stupid. Also very disappointed that this review doesn’t mention the donkey scene, that might’ve been a good addition. If a preteen really wants to watch it, I’d recommend the three part ova, which came out in 1987. There is some stuff at the beginning featuring a naked anthropomorphic moth girl with tentacles, though it’s more supposed to be terrifying than hot. The sex and gore is toned down a ton in the club scene, most of it being silhouettes if I remember correctly. It’s definitely still there, just toned down. The English dubbing in the ova is also so horrible that it’s hard to take seriously sometimes, and there’s a ton of swearing (f**k, sh**, damn, etc.), but in my opinion it just adds charm. If you already let your kid read/watch horror stuff like junji ito this is probably fine. However animated stuff is usually worse than black and white horror manga, so it depends. I watched this when I was around 11 or 12, which was stupid and I should have waited, but I don’t regret watching it.

This is a good show overall. Your kids can watch it, if you're okay with them seeing actual porn and lots of violence. This show is intended for mature adults.

To start off i would like to say i have no idea why its rated so low!? Sure the point of this website is to see if things are appropriate for kids and stuff but still! Anyway, the basis of the show is incredible and i loved the characters and all their drama however this show is not for people who cant handle an immense amount of gore and sex. I watched this show when i was 13 and recently rewatched it. I think what puts off most people from this show is the first episode. It takes place in a night club that shows footage of sex and some peopel drinking alchohal and doing drugs. I personally skipped through parts of it that didnt seem important because it was alot of naked women. which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Besides the sex everything else about this show are pretty common themes in a horror anime. Which tend to be very graphic so dont be suprised.
