What's the Story?

Based on the British comedy Friday Night Dinner, DINNER WITH THE PARENTS follows the Langer family (two parents, two adult sons, and a grandmother) as they gather for their weekly family dinner. Their interactions are filled with playful bickering, boundary-pushing antics, and comedic chaos, often involving their eccentric neighbor.

Is It Any Good?

Though anchored by seasoned comedy actors Michaela Watkins (Casual), Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), and Carol Kane (The Princess Bride), the series fails to live up to its promise. The central family in Dinner with the Parents is dysfunctional but lovable, and their interactions are based on relatable family dynamics. Unfortunately, the jokes land flat more often than not, making for a predictable and ultimately disappointing viewing experience.
