What's the Story?
The animated sitcom DOOMLANDS features Danny Doom (Mark Little) running a mobile pub in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Doom owns The Oasis, where he caters to the local human and creature clientele in the area with the help of his less experienced bartender Lhandi (Kayla Lorette). There's never a dull moment, and the two are just trying to survive the day-to-day and each other.
Is It Any Good?
The series combines science fiction elements of the Mad Max franchise with sitcom-type humor to create an irreverent, adult-oriented viewing experience. First developed for the short-lived streaming service Quibi, each 11-minute episode offers self-contained narratives filled with a colorful ensemble cast that inevitably creates chaos. The writing isn't exceptional, but the concept is creative enough to sustain each brief storyline. If you like animated entertainment, you may find Doomlands worth checking out.
