Dr. Seuss's Horton!
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
DR. SEUSS'S HORTON! (voiced by Ethan Monaghan) is a cheerful elephant with an exceptionally positive attitude. Alongside his best friend, Samson (Max Mittelman), a bird who can't fly and has a flair for the dramatic, Horton proudly resides in the Jungle of Nool. Together, they spend their time having fun with other animals. But when something goes wrong or someone needs help, they jump at the chance to make things right: "Elephant's honor and bird's word!" With curiosity, perseverance, and a talent for finding unexpected solutions, this duo turns every day into an adventure.
Is It Any Good?
There's never a dull moment in this captivating adaptation that introduces beloved characters to a new generation. Despite being aimed at preschoolers, Dr. Seuss's Horton! has both a gentle rhythm that allows young viewers to follow along, and enough action to keep even older ones engaged. The show does share elements with Dora, like a map that indicates directions, a backpack full of resources, and a villain with Swiper qualities. But Dr. Seuss's Horton! uses these elements in a different way, focusing on helping others, which allows the show to stand on its own. Just like in the wild, there's plenty of room for both to thrive.
