Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 3 ):
Kids say ( 2 ):

This long-running action series takes more of a comedy approach in its latest installment. Dragon Ball Daima seems to be geared more towards younger kids, with the characters taking on mini versions of themselves and the frequency of fights toned down just a tiny bit. However, there's still a fair amount of cartoon violence. The writing is pretty basic, but it's also got genuinely funny jokes and does lightly touch upon a few complex themes.

As far as sequels go, it works well enough as a standalone story. The characters are given clear introductions to their personalities and priorities. They also verbalize a lot of exposition and "tell" more than "show" to move the plot along. New viewers have enough context to follow along, but ultimately fans of the original stories will appreciate this show the most.
