Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
DRESS MY TOUR is a competition show where eleven designers compete against each other to make performance costumes for a recording artist's tour and an additional cash prize of $100,000. Designers are eliminated each week after a consultation by three permanent judges (Kate Upton, Marina Toybina, and Laurieann Gibson, plus a guest), and then contestant vote against each other to decide who will leave each week.
Is It Any Good?
If you liked Project Runway, you may enjoy this series, which follows similar lines. However, there is SO much snippy behind-the-back gossip in Dress My Tour that the costumes created almost feel secondary to the personal drama that the contestants create. This also causes a lot of the designers to feel unlikable despite their remarkable creations.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about which designer they like in personality and which they like in style. While some contestants have blossoming styles that reflect their brand, they may complain a lot or show troubling character traits (like lying). Who do you like design-wise? Do you like them personally too?
The contestants are asked questions designed to stir up drama ("Who do you think should have been in the bottom of last week's judging and why?") How would you answer a question like this diplomatically?
