What's the Story?

END OF THE LINE (aka Ponto Final) is a Brazilian comedy series about a driver navigating his job, his family, and life in general. Ivan (Rodrigo Sant'anna) is an unpermitted van driver whose life seems to be in constant chaos. He lives with local bus driver and soon-to-be ex-wife Sandra (Roberta Rodrigues) and their social media-loving son Ivandro (Faiska Alves). Also joining the fray is Ivan's best friend Migué (Thardelly Lima) and Sandra's friend Ane (comedian Nany People). There's never a dull moment, and things don't always go as planned, but Ivan always tries to make the best of it.

The silly series, which is recorded in front of a live audience in Portuguese, follows a sitcom formula that uses common TV comedy tropes to get laughs. While some of the humor in End of the Line is culturally specific, much of it can be easily understood by non-Brazilian audiences. Viewers can also appreciate how it points to some of Brazil's economic and social challenges, including poverty and homelessness. Despite being more goofy than funny, End of the Line's production style stands out because it lets audiences see some of the behind-the-scenes set up. If you're looking for a lighthearted comedy to binge, this Brazilian show will meet your needs.
