What's the Story?

EVERYBODY STILL HATES CHRIS starts right as Chris (voiced by Tim Johnson Jr.) is in the middle of taking his GED. But when he fails, his mom's slap sends him into an animated world. Now he's got to start the 10th grade all over again, but this time Chris is determined to make a fresh start. Based on the life of actor Chris Rock (who narrates) and his childhood growing up in Brooklyn in the 1980s, the series continues to show the family's struggle through racism, classism, and growing up. Throughout all this, Chris is just trying to succeed and make sure his mom doesn't send him straight to Claymation.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 2 ):
Kids say ( 2 ):

This series carries the same vibrancy of social commentary, satire, and self-awareness as the original. Everybody Still Hates Chris has more space to play with its comedic bits. There might be a little more colorful language, but it still appeals to a wider audience with its animation style, nostalgia, and emphasis on family and growing up. Despite the innuendo, language, and some violent themes, it's suitable for most teens.
