Extant was a great show. Personally, I think that 14+ is too harsh, considering that there isn’t any sex, no excessive drinking or drugs, they only cuss once, and it isn’t particularly violent either. My son was required to take a sex ed class when he was twelve, and so I know he has been educated on the plot where she is mysteriously pregnant, and can understand it. While it does talk about how she got pregnant there isn’t any vulgar to it, just science talk.
