A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this TV show.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Eye Wonder is a compilation show featuring clips of magic tricks and video illusions from around the web. There's a clear emphasis on getting on the internet to succeed and some of the creators are shown asking for people to follow them. The "How Did They Do That?" section explains how the magic tricks and video special effects are done and in many of the episodes the creators encourages viewers to keep chasing their dreams and to never give up. There's also importance placed on curiosity and to never stop learning. One creator advises, "Read books, watch YouTube tutorials, and create, create, and create some more." People of many different ethnicities are featured; there's noticeably more males than females.

What's the Story?
EYE WONDER is a collection of short clips of magic tricks, video illusions, and viral videos from around the internet. Some of the people featured aren't really introduced at all but others have footage introducing them and digging into how they got started and their motivations for getting into their fields of interest. There's also a "How Did They Do That?" section that explains how a few of the magic tricks or video special effects are done.
Is It Any Good?
With a unique mix of viral videos, video illusions, and good old-fashioned magic, this is a show unlike any other. Though quick transitions from clip to clip can feel chaotic, Eye Wonder will captivate young viewers as they'll continue to wonder how each trick is done. More than just entertainment, though, the series may also serve as serious inspiration for budding filmmakers (and maybe even a couple magicians-in-the-making too). The "How Did They Do That" segments take some of the coolest tricks and break them down step-by-step so that viewers can try to recreate them at home. As with any show featuring a montage of internet videos, parents should be aware of the potentially addictive nature of the series and may want to talk to kids about what happens in their brains when they watch a lot of short clips back to back. Instead of turning this one on and walking away, parents will get the most benefit from allowing only an episode or two at a time and then asking kids to either get creative using what they've learned or to move on to an activity that doesn't involve screen time.
