Fat Joe Talks
What's the Story?
FAT JOE TALKS is an interview series featuring Joseph Antonio Cartagena, a.k.a. rapper Fat Joe, talking to a range of Black, African-American, and Latinx icons. Each episode features the Grammy-nominated artist traveling around the country to talk to folks like actor and Wu Tan Clan founder "Cliff "Method Man" Smith," Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, and rapper Alyssa "Latto" Stephens. Throughout the conversations, Fat Joe and his guests talk about their childhoods, what inspires them, and the challenges they've faced throughout their careers. The importance of their local communities is also discussed.
Is It Any Good?
This positive series offers viewers a chance to hear from cultural icons that have primarily emerged from Black and Latino communities. Fat Joe Talks and easily guides each interview, making sure that each person he's speaking with has the opportunity to break down their points, and clear up any misunderstandings people may have about them or their work. He also brings in some of his own experiences into the conversations, especially when he's interviewing someone he grew up with or knows well professionally. There's some edge to it, but overall Fat Joe Talks is an upbeat series that presents some quick, but honest, conversations designed to inspire people.
