What's the Story?

FIRST LOVE centers around the love story of a man (Takeru Satoh) and woman (Hikari Mitsushima) who as teenagers fell in love in the 1990s. After becoming adults and drifting apart, both continued on separately with their lives. Then fate brings them back together decades later, giving them the chance to rekindle their first love.

Fans of romantic dramas will enjoy this wholesome and heartwarming story about love and fate. First Love captures the best and worst moments of young love; Yae and Namiki's relationship is well developed and hits all the familiar but sappily good elements viewers expect from the genre. But there are also plenty of twists and an interesting mystery to keep you intrigued throughout. The only downside is that First Love's pace is a bit too slow, but overall it's a sentimental, fun, and satisfying watch.
