Her fortunes change when Naoki (Takeru Satoh), a talented singer-songwriter and bandleader, invites her to join his new group, TENBLANK. As they prepare for high-stakes performances, the band navigates creative clashes and deepening friendships. When a huge crisis strikes, the group must rally together, proving that their bond—and their music—can endure even life's toughest challenges.

Adapted from Mio Wakagi's hugely popular novel, this heartfelt musical drama delivers an audiovisually striking take on the beloved story. Glass Heart is glossy and kinetic, with earnest actors embodying equally earnest characters. You can sense the cast's genuine belief in the script; their commitment mirrors that of the musicians they play, who pour everything they have into their craft. That sincerity alone is enough to carry the audience along.

The thrilling performance set pieces are shot with a dazzling mix of drones and zooms, as well as rapid cuts that evoke the energy of big-screen concert films. The punk rock soundtrack pulses with vitality––and the pacing finds a strong rhythm balancing adrenaline rushes with slower, melodramatic beats about personal struggles and challenges. For viewers who love stories about music—or dream of making music themselves—it's as inspiring as it is entertaining.
