What's the Story?

In GOT TO GET OUT, 20 contestants—including familiar faces from past reality shows and some new ones—must find a way to escape host Simu Liu's lavish, locked mansion through a gate at the end of a long driveway. Ten exits may unlock at any time, allowing a chance to escape and claim a growing cash prize. But once someone succeeds, the money clock resets, and the game starts over. The twist? Any contestant in the mansion can hit a button that shuts the exit gate—leaving players to strategize not just when to leave, but who they can trust.

This series takes familiar reality competition elements and spins them into something fresh, combining escape-room tension with a Prison Break-meets-The Traitors vibe. Viewers will be immediately sucked in to Got to Get Out's drama, with the nerve-wracking races to escape separating it from traditional voting-based shows. Simu Liu's (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) snarky narration and the inclusion of chaotic reality TV icons like Omarosa and Spencer Pratt inject humor and drama in equal measure. For viewers who enjoy watching alliances form and explode, and unexpected underdogs emerge, this show delivers a wild ride with plenty of suspense and absurdity.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about what each member would do for a million dollars. Talk about the ethical lines contestants are willing to cross to win. Are they playing a game, or do their actions reflect who they are in real life? Would you be OK with lying or betraying someone for money?

  • Discuss why you think people enjoy watching reality competition shows. Discuss what draws audiences to shows that highlight drama, manipulation, and strategy. What feelings do these shows provoke in you (excitement? anxiety? frustration?), and why?
