What's the Story?

In GROSSE POINTE GARDEN SOCIETY, the first rule of garden club is to always have each other's backs, no matter what. But everyone is either trying to grow out of dissatisfaction or tangled up in their own weeds. Alice (AnnaSophia Robb) struggles to land her dream writing job while working as a teacher. Brett (Ben Rappaport) tries to handle single fatherhood and make his car repair shop dream a reality. Catherine (Aja Naomi King), neglected by her husband, juggles an affair while selling houses. Birdie (Melissa Fumero) fights to rehabilitate her reputation after a messy divorce and a DUI. When the four bury a body after a murder, can they follow the first rule to the end?

Who knew pulling weeds could get so murderous and messy? Grosse Pointe Garden Society is intriguing and complicated. All the flawed characters and their chaotic decisions may be stressful to watch, but they fit perfectly in the typical multi-narrative drama mystery series mold. The setting of a gardening club is refreshing and unique, and the performances by King and Robb are solid. Parents will want to be mindful of the sexual content, language, smoking, and violence.
