What's the Story?

HERE COME THE IRISH is a seven-part documentary series that follows the Notre Dame football team during the 2024 football season. Cameras follow the Fighting Irish on and off the field to reveal what goes on behind the scenes as players train hard, play harder, and enjoy being part of the campus community. It also shows how head coach Marcus Freeman and the team staff are working hard to shape and guide the team toward a national championship, which requires them to push the athletes, practice tough love, and make tough decisions for the good of the team. Conversations with the football players, including quarterback Riley Leonard, kicker Jack Kiser, and safety Xavier Watts, reveal some of their backstories, their academic responsibilities, and what their hopes are for the season and for their futures. Details about the team's history, some of which are shared by Notre Dame's legendary former head coach Lou Holtz, highlight the team's rich traditions. They haven't won a championship in 36 years, but they all feel that their time has come again.

College football fans will be drawn to this series, which offers a compelling behind-the-scenes look at Notre Dame's 2024 football season from the team's point of view. Viewers of Here Come the Irish get to watch as players train at Fall Camp, coaches strategize, and, of course, as they all prepare for each game. They also get to watch major game highlights, which showcase what went right and wrong during each one. Granted, Here Come the Irish promotes the team and its athletes, many of whom are looking to play pro ball in the future. But this doesn't prevent it from being an entertaining series for those who love the sport.
