What's the Story?

Prime Minister Abigail Dalton (Suranne Jones) has just found out her husband has been taken HOSTAGE. If she doesn't resign, the kidnappers guarantee his death. There's also a medicine supply shortage in the UK, so the public want her out of office too. With few options and the clock ticking, Dalton appeals to French President Vivienne Toussaint (Julie Delpy) for help. France's well-funded military and medical resources could help Dalton save her husband, her people, and her career. Seeing this as a chance to get French military forces in Britain, Toussaint agrees to help on a few conditions. But Dalton's hail Mary falters when the kidnappers blackmail Toussaint. How will these two leaders navigate these crises?

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say : Not yet rated

This series captivates viewers with its stupefying stakes. Hostage is rapid and restless. The story keeps up the pace with each complicated curveball thrown at it, and the performances are strong (especially from Jones and Delpy). The cursing, violence, and drinking make this suitable for older teens.
