What's the Story?
HOTEL COSTIERA follows Daniel (Jesse Williams), a half-Italian former U.S. Marine who takes a job as a fixer at a luxury hotel on the Amalfi Coast. When Alice (Amanda Campana), the daughter of one of the hotel's owners, is abducted, Daniel becomes entangled in the family's turmoil and the dangerous web of ransom demands and many secrets that follow. As he juggles the hotel's eccentric and often wealthy guests with the urgent search for Alice, Daniel is forced to navigate a world of glamour, corruption, and escalating danger.
Is It Any Good?
This entertaining thriller thrives on Williams' easy charisma, reminding viewers that he remains a magnetic TV star. In Hotel Costiera, he leans into his action persona, but in a lighter register—more witty, suave problem-solver than gritty crime fighter. The show clearly enjoys placing him in a sun-drenched, Mamma Mia!-like setting, with bursts of adrenaline from fights and close calls that never feel too heavy. Watching Williams swagger through this blend of action is part of the fun.
Further brightening the experience is the Amalfi Coast itself, which the show treats as both backdrop and selling point. Scenes of yachts, clubs, and cliffside villas often feel closer to a tourism campaign than a suspense thriller, but that's part of the appeal. The abduction plot adds just enough intrigue to keep viewers invested without ever threatening the carefree vibe. Hotel Costiera doesn't aspire to be a tense or realistic crime drama, but a glamorous diversion that delivers an enjoyable, if shallow, escape.
