Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
IGNITE follows Ryo Uzaki (voiced by Shotaro Mamiya), a man working towards his dream of becoming a lawyer, but is down on his luck in the meantime. Nothing seems to work out for him, until he gets hired at Peace Law Firm, a small group of hungry lawyers who sometimes cross boundaries to chase after lucrative lawsuits. When he joins the firm, he and his coworkers do whatever it takes to collect evidence, convince victims to sue, and solve difficult cases.
Is It Any Good?
This legal drama is intriguing, always leaving the viewer guessing for the next twist. Ignite explores many mature themes, such as suicides and murder cover-ups, which may be triggering for some. Characters like Ryo and Inoo have a strong sense of justice and a "nothing-is-off-limits" attitude, which can be endearing and leave the viewer biting their nails, hoping they don't get themselves or the team in trouble. Each episode has a creative new case, and it helps the viewer get to know the main cast in different circumstances without the show being too repetitive or boring. It is a classic legal drama, so many cases tend to be sad and pull at the heartstrings.
