What's the Story?

Hosted by actor Joe Manganiello, this behind-the-scenes special explores Universal Orlando's newest theme park, Epic Universe. The park is made up of five immersive "worlds," each entered through a themed portal and connected by a central celestial hub. Viewers get a first look at rides and attractions based on Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, Super Nintendo, and Universal's classic monsters in the "Dark Universe." The documentary takes viewers on a glossy tour of the park's conception and construction, highlighting the technology and fan-favorite IPs behind each land.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

While fans of Universal parks may enjoy the sneak peek, the special ultimately feels like a 45-minute commercial more than a compelling documentary. Joe Manganiello's hosting of Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe lacks charm, and watching others go on rides doesn't offer much excitement. There's little new insight for theme park enthusiasts, and for families not planning a trip, it may feel like a frustrating advertisement for a very expensive vacation.
