BEST. SHOW. EVER!!!

For those of you who grew up in the '80s, or those with parents who grew up in the '80s, this show was THE BEST SHOW of the time. There was a lot of cool '80s fashion, music, and trends in the show, and there isn't a lot of stuff for parents to worry about. First of all, the show has important lessons of friendship and loyalty. Jem teaches positive messages at the end of some episodes (e.g. don't do drugs, don't talk to strangers, keep trying when you mess up, etc.) that kids even TODAY can relate to. Jem is also Jerrica Benton, the president of Starlight Music (her father, Emmett Benton used to own Starlight Music until he passed away), and she works hard to support a orphanage for foster girls using Jem's rockstar earnings. Also, Jem and the Holograms don't put up with Eric Raymond and the Misfits' trickery. There is a lot of action in this show, such as diving down from a castle window, a goon burning down Jerrica's house, and some other things, but no one ever gets seriously hurt. Jem/Jerrica and Rio share a few kisses, but Jerrica can't tell him that she's Jem, or they would break up. There isn't really any bad language, but there is name-calling, such as "pigface" and others. Back in Jem's heyday during 1985-1988, merchandise was everywhere, like clothing, makeup, puzzles, and even dolls that came with tapes featuring the show's music. Fans wanted Hasbro to bring back Jem so much that Integrity Toys made an all-new adult collectible doll line. Finally, there is a girl named Laura Holloway who does drugs in one episode, but that episode is to teach kids not to do drugs. Overall, this is a "truly, truly, truly outrageous show" and it will be forever! "Show's over, Synergy!" :)

WRONG

it's called Jem NOT Jem and the Holograms and the show and the doll's came out at the same time, one was not based on the other. Jetta says Bloody a lot and Leg is all you see. thay are NOT teens they ARE in there 20's. and in the show the Misfits are just as famous popular as Jem that's why thay are rivals.

WILDLY INAPPROPRIATE!

It is wildly inappropriate. There is constant violence. In one episode, the Misfits hire a hitman to kill Jem! Once, Jem was even framed for a crime. Jem is in constant peril. As unbelievable as it is, one episode contained a 13 year old girl on drugs. The more minor issues are skimpy outfits and relationships.
