What's the Story?

KIM VS. KANYE: THE DIVORCE is a two-part documentary that offers insights into what led to the end of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's marriage from two different points of view. With the help of archive footage, it offers a timeline of their relationship, marriage, and events that eventually led to them parting ways. Lawyers involved in the divorce, as well as a few friends and family members from both the Kardashian camp and the West camp, offer their insights into what happened between the former couple, highlighting how their loved one was misunderstood or wronged by her or his spouse. Bloggers, tabloid journalists, and therapists also weigh in on what they think happened and why.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

The superficial series mixes facts and opinions about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's relationship to produce a narrative that appears to offer more than speculation about what happened between them. Each segment offers some already well-publicized details and a few personal tidbits about the ex-couple's personal lives, but does so in a way that paints either Kardashian or West (and their respective entourages) as the one most responsible for the marriage's failure. Adding to the tabloid nature of the series are bloggers and therapists who are not involved in their divorce in any way, but who offer lots of analysis about the two celebs and their behavior. Ultimately, Kim vs. Kanye: The Divorce is designed to entertain audiences by offering suppositions about the intimate details behind a very public relationship's breakdown.
